Goodbye for Now

This has been an awfully hard decision for me to make, but TBM will no longer crunch Paladins data. No new ratings will be calculated. The bot will be permanently disabled this Thursday 2019/09/19, so if there are any stats you want to pull, you should do so now. I’ll probably leave the website up for posterity, at least as long as the hosting fees stay low, though it too will no longer be updated.

The TBM discord will stay up for the foreseeable future, and I will continue to be here and enforce the same rule we’ve always had (don’t be a dick). Hopefully some will stay and chat, either about Paladins or about other things. I feel like we’ve built a community here and I don’t want to lose that. In the future, I hope to find another game with an API, made by another developer, to which we can apply all the machinery I’ve developed.

For those who will be departing with the bot, thanks for hanging out. I hope TBM helped make the game a bit more fun for you. For those who were Patreon supporters, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You definitely helped prolong the life of TBM. Without you, it would have died with the original crossplatform update at the beginning of the year. I only wish we could have found a more sustainable solution for the long term.

And finally, thanks to everyone who was interested in seeing data, even if that data wasn’t always what we expected. It’s important to ask yourself why you believe the things you believe. Ask yourself how strongly you believe those things, and figure out what evidence you have to support them. With a little introspection, you just might find that your reasons aren’t as strong as your beliefs. No matter what the topic, that’s how we come to understand the world. Be kind and seek the truth.
